Buena Vista ISD
Partnership with Midland College
By building bridges across rural communities in the Permian Basin, the Permian Basin Innovation Zone offers PBIZ Academics that increase opportunities for students in rural school districts.
The PBIZ is a partnership between four school districts — (Crane, McCamey, Buena Vista, and Grandfalls-Royalty), two institutions of higher education (Midland College and Odessa College, and business industry leaders.
Structured as a non-profit organization, PBIZ is designed as a sustainable collaborative with the possibility to expand over time. PBIZ allows participating campuses to collaborate on rural challenges, develop regionally-specific solutions, provide students with access and transportation to coursework and teachers they otherwise would not have had access to, and promote collaboration and innovation among schools and teachers leading to stronger results.
